Thompson's ref fury

Notts County boss Steve Thompson was left fuming after his side had two players sent off in the 3-2 reverse at MK Dons at the weekend.

League newcomer Danny McDermid dismissed both Matt Somner and Alan White, leaving Thompson to blast the referee for his performance.

He told the Evening Post: "I was incensed by the referee from the very first whistle.

"The referee should have a good look in the mirror and decide if he is a referee or if he should be at a kindergarten party.

"It is the worst refereeing I have seen in 30 years of professional football.

"I'm gutted that one official can spoil a football match. I'm going to get a fine so I might as well double up.

"I've got myself in enough trouble so I might as well get the electric chair. That referee is not from the same planet as me."
