Thompson enjoys Notts stay

Notts County loanee John Thompson is enjoying his chance to secure regular first-team football at Meadow Lane.

The 27-year-old recently extended his stay with the Magpies for a further two months, having seen his opportunities with Oldham Athletic limited in recent months.

He told the Evening Post: "I have loved my time here so far, although I would have preferred to have a few more points and picked up a few more wins, but I am sure that will come.

"When the opportunity came for me to extend my loan I jumped at the chance. I am really happy here, I have to say.

"I am still getting stronger and fitter with every game I play."
