Southend United midfielder Jay Smith is keen to extend his loan stay with Notts County until the end of the season.
The 25-year-old scored for the Magpies in the weekend thrashing of Torquay United and is happy to be playing again after moving to the fringes of the first-team squad at Roots Hall.
"I'm not quite sure what will be happening, but I've really enjoyed my time with Notts and I hope that can continue," he told County's official website.
"I want to keep playing games - I've really enjoyed doing that. The gaffer has been great, as have the players, and the fans are quality here too.
"I don't see any reason why I can't stay here. I'd be happy if the chance came up to stay."
Smith has made 11 appearances for the League Two side after arriving at Meadow Lane in November.
