Rae boosted by second-half improvement

Notts County assistant manager Alex Rae was happy with his side's second-half display following the 1-1 draw at Hartlepool.Midfielder Gary Liddle had given Pools a half-time lead with the club`s first goal since New Year`s Day, but Lee Hughes levelled after the break to hand County a share of the spoils.Rae said: "The first half was a bit flat, second was far better. We were very disappointed how we played in the first half, we never passed it."The second half was better and we got level with a well-worked goal. Hughes had three early chances and it set the tone."The Hartlepool goal seemed offside, it was poor defending from our point of view and we didn't get to grips with the game, we huffed and puffed with little zest."We tried to play offside for their goal and it didn't work. We had to come back and do it the hard way and with endeavour and effort we did."
