Rae: We`re in a dogfight
Published : 12 Feb 2011 19:30:14

Assistant manager Alex Rae admitted Notts County were in a relegation dogfight after they slipped to defeat at home to Exeter. The Magpies may have a lucrative trip to Premier League big spenders Manchester City on the horizon but they are struggling in the league, with a 2-0 loss seeing them slip to one point off the drop zone.Rae said: "It's fair to say that we're in amongst it now."We're disappointed because we've had a couple of chances to pull away from it and not taken them."Exeter took the lead through Steve Tully, who scrambled home a rebound, and Matt Taylor then netted a second as County failed to register a single shot on target."We don't look like we've got a cutting edge at the moment," said Rae. "Lee Hughes' shot off the crossbar was the best we had. I'm sure the second half was a spectacle for the fans, but it's a results business."
