Paul Mayo

Notts County : having started his career with Lincoln , Paul made over 50 appearences for the club before a back injury in a pre-season friendly forced him to miss the start of the 2002/2003 season . Due to the form of Stuart Bimson during his time injured Mayo was unable to force his way back into the first team and decided to join Dagenham and Redbridge for a month in October 2002 . After returning to City Paul found himself back in the starting line up after a couple of games on the bench for the match against Kidderminster , he then gave an exellent performance in a victory against Bournemouth which left the Imps on the verge of the play-offs . His impressive finish to the season saw him rewarded with a new two year contract which he signed in July 2003 . His goal scoring exploits during the 2003/2004 season when he netted eight times , six of them penalties , attracted interest from Watford and in March 2004 joined them in a 3 year deal . However , Paul returned to Sincil Bank in July 2005 signing a two year deal with the Imps , after being made available by Watford manager Adrian Boothroyd at the end of the 2004/2005 season . He played 27 games while at Vicarage Road .
