Notts clinch double deal

Notts County manager Ian McParland has added Delroy Facey and Sean Canham to his squad on the eve of the new League Two campaign.

Much-travelled striker Facey moves to Meadow Lane after spending last season with Gillingham, while Canham had drifted in to non-league football after previously starring for Brentford and Leyton Orient.

"In certain games we'll need a big strong boy up there to play alongside the smaller man and make life easier for them," said McParland.

"Delroy's that big presence and he also has a lot of experience. He did very well for Wycombe against us last season, where we saw he could head in both boxes and he also showed he's a strong runner.

"We went and watched Sean in a game for Charlton, where he was on trial, last week to take a closer look at him and we also spoke to some of the staff there as he'd been with them for a couple of weeks.

"We felt having seen him it was worth taking him on. He's a tall lad, but not a big bruiser. He's a good footballer and has a nice touch, and I think he'll do well."
