Notts clinch Akinbiyi coup

Former Leicester City striker Ade Akinbiyi has joined Notts County until the end of the season.

The 34-year-old was a free agent after spending the last six months in the United States with Houston Dynamo.

Akinbiyi scored twice in 14 appearances for Houston who decided to release him last month.

The much-travelled forward has a wealth of experience since making his first-team debut for Norwich City more than 15 years ago.

Bristol City, Wolves, Leicester and Crystal Palace all paid six-figure fees for Akinbiyi, who has scored more than a century of league goals in almost 500 appearances for his 11 English clubs.
