Notts challenge excites Ricky

Notts County manager Ian McParland has continued his summer rebuilding plans by snapping up Darlington midfielder Ricky Ravenhill.

The 28-year-old former Doncaster Rovers star leaves the cash-strapped Quakers after spending the last 30 months in the north-east and is looking forward to starting a new chapter in his career.

"I can't wait to get my Notts County career underway," he said.

"I'm delighted to be here and I'm pleased everything is sorted.

"I know that Notts struggled last season, but the manager has told me how determined people are to make this club a force again and I want to be a part of that."
