Mills' joy at Gordon swoop

Notts County boss Gary Mills believes new signing Gavin Gordon will provide the Magpies with plenty of goals next season after signing the former Cardiff City man on a free transfer.

Gordon has agreed personal terms and will sign a two-year contract at Meadow Lane on July 1 following his release by the Bluebirds at the end of last season.

Mills is looking for players to help County bounce back after their relegation from Division Two in May and he sees Gordon as an important new member of his squad who will enable them to do just that.

He told the club's official website: "Gavin Gordon is a striker who's been top of my list for a while and I'm delighted we are to sign him.

"I'm bringing him to the club to score goals and I'm confident he'll do that.

"He's a big lad and the target man I've been looking for and so I'm very pleased he's signed for us despite plenty of clubs chasing him."
