Notts County boss Gary Mills believes the signing of David Pipe shows that the club is on the right track.
The Coventry City midfielder has signed a deal with the Magpies that will keep him at Meadow Lane until June 2006 and Mills is pleased with Pipe's decision.
"I am delighted Pipey has signed for us, and I am sure the fans are also delighted he has signed up, after some fine performances," he told the club's official website.
"I believe this is a sign of the positive feeling at this club, when someone like David signs up with us until June 2006.
"David has been outstanding for us during his loan spell, and we were always keen to get him here permanently since day one.
"He had another year left on his contract at Coventry, but the lure of having the chance of playing first-team football probably swayed it for us, with David giving up a very good wage at Highfield Road."
The 20-year-old has made 15 appearances for the Magpies since arriving at the club on loan in January.
