McParland challenges Hunt

Notts County defender Stephen Hunt has been urged to fulfill his potential after being offered a new one-year contract with the League Two club.

The 24-year-old former Colchester United man suffered with injuries last term, but has been given a chance to re-start his career at Meadow Lane.

Boss Ian McParland told the Evening Post: "Stephen has to wake up and smell the coffee and realise his potential.

"He's 24 now and he's got a lot of ability. He's got a great left foot, he's quick, strong and he can head it.

"To be fair to the lad he's had a lot of injury problems, but hopefully they're all out of the way now.

"It's up to him if he wants to become a key player for us. He has to knuckle down now and prove himself."
