Notts County's teenage goalkeeper Tim Sandercombehas signed a one-year extension to his current contract with the League Two side.
Magpies boss Steve Thompson is a big fan of the 18-year-old, who moved to Meadow Lane from Plymouth Argyle in the summer and made his debut in this month's Johnstone's Paint Trophy defeat to Leyton Orient.
Thompson told the Nottingham Evening Post: "The new deal is in recognition of all the hard work Tim's put in since he joined us, but it's also because we don't want to lose him.
"Word soon gets around when a young player shows potential and we felt that if we didn't do something to tie him down, we ran the risk of someone sneaking him away from us.
"I'm delighted that Tim's agreed the deal. He still has it all to do but if he maintains his appetite for hard work and continues to learn from Steve Cherry and Kevin Pilkington, I believe he can develop into a top keeper."
