Magpies reject Davies offer

Notts County have rejected a third bid from Derby for midfielder Ben Davies.The Rams first expressed their interest in the 29-year-old midfielder, who has 18 months left on his current contract, in the summer and made an initial offer of around £250,000 last week which was immediately turned down.The latest offer is believed to be much closer to the Magpies asking price of £500,000 but chairman Ray Trew insisted it was still nowhere near his valuation.Derby manager Nigel Clough told BBC Radio Derby: "We are getting closer and we are working as fast as we can."
