Magpies let Sam go free

Notts County striker Hector Sam has had his Meadow Lane contract cancelled by mutual consent. The 30-year-old former Trinidad & Tobago international scored twice in nine starts and 15 substitute appearances for the Magpies after he had been released by Walsall at the end of last season. County's assistant manager Dave Kevan told the club's official website: "Hector has worked hard during his time here and we'd like to wish him all the very best for the future." Sam's most prolific spell came while was with Wrexham, when he found the net on 40 occasions in 93 starts for the club.
