Notts County loanee Jason Beardsley has won praise from manager Ian McParland after making a promising start to his time with the Magpies.
The versatile 19-year-old defender has impressed in the opening two games of the League two campaign, having joined County on a three-month loan from Derby County.
McParland told the Evening Post: "I am delighted with him, but he has still got a bit to learn.
"The thing with Jason is he wants to learn. That's a great attitude to have, but sometimes you have to pull him back because he wants to do too much.
"He is still learning the game and he is not the finished article, but I am pleased with what I have seen of him so far.
"You are always taking a little bit of a chance when you bring a young lad in, but he has done okay so far. Hopefully he will kick on and keep doing well for us."
