Magpies bring in Clapham

Notts County have signed veteran left-back Jamie Clapham on a short-term contract to cover for an injury to Stephen Hunt.

The 32-year-old former Ipswich Town star has been training with the Magpies for a couple of weeks, having been released by Leicester City at the end of last season.

Boss Ian McParland told the club's official website: "Jamie is an experienced campaigner, who will bring a wealth of experience to our squad, I'm certain of that.

"He is a solid defender, who is comfortable on the ball as well and I'm sure he will prove to be an astute signing for us.

"With Stephen Hunt still out for a few more weeks, it was important we brought in some competition down the left-hand side."
