Notts County manager Steve Thompson has not ruled out the possibility of running the rule over trialists during pre-season friendlies.
The Magpies boss is keen to make the majority of his close season moves in the transfer market before the start of pre-season training in early July, but will keep his options open after signing defender Dan Gleeson following a late trial last year.
"I would prefer to have the squad ready by pre-season, but the door is never closed," he told the club's official website.
"If anyone comes out the woodwork who we fancy, we will have a look at them. After that it all depends on the budget."
