Notts County have told midfielder Matthew Gill that he can leave the club on a free transfer.
The 25-year-old former Peterborough United schemer is out of contract in the summer and will be allowed to leave Meadow Lane early to try and find a new club.
Magpies assistant manager Ross McLaren told the club's official website: "Matthew has been informed he is free to find another club.
"We have made the decision now as we need to look at things for January when the transfer window opens, and with the need to freshen faces up we have told Matthew he is available.
"We decided it was best the player was informed now, rather than leave it until the end of the season.
"This gives him a chance to get fixed up with a club now, rather than in the summer."
