Kevan hails Magpies heroes

Notts County's caretaker manager Dave Kevan was full of praise for his side after they secured a superb 2-0 win at Wigan Athletic in an FA Cup fourth round replay.

The Magpies set up a clash with Fulham in round five thanks to a Stephen Hunt strike and an own goal at the DW Stadium.

Kevan told the Evening Post: "It's lovely to be involved in a game like that, the players were superb.

"They never shirked a challenge, a header or a tackle. Everything that was thrown at them, they dealt with and stood up to.

"It was a very disciplined and controlled performance and we had Kasper Schmeichel to thank when Wigan did break through us. He made some great saves.

"Wigan started the second half very strongly and they came at us, like we expected them to. But we stood firm."
