Johnson returns to Notts

Notts County have bolstered their squad with the signing of Derby County's veteran defender Michael Johnson on loan for the rest of the season. The 34-year-old started his career with the Magpies way back in 1991, making well over 100 appearances before being sold to Birmingham City in the summer of 1995 for £225,000. Notts boss Ian McParland told the club's official website: "We've been keen to bring Michael to the club for some time, so naturally we're delighted to finally get him on board. "Our fans know what he is about and I'm very sure he will be a fine acquisition to our squad between now and the end of the campaign. "His experience will be vital, we don't have too many old heads in the team and that is something he will be able to bring to the team."
