Ince pleased to get off the mark

Paul Ince was pleased after overseeing his first win as Notts County manager against Gateshead in the FA Cup.The Magpies edged past the Conference club thanks to Ben Davies' 22nd-minute penalty and a late second goal from substitute Luke Rodgers."This was always going to be their cup final, so the onus was on us. We've come away with a 2-0 win but it should have been four or five," said Ince. "We needed that second goal because 1-0 is always a difficult scoreline, and there was a sense of relief when it went in."The former England captain is already making his mark on the League One outfit, with two new signings in the starting line-up - defender Stephen Darby and son Thomas Ince - and Sam Sodje came off the bench.Ince added: "He (Thomas) is not as good as me, let's get that out of the way! But he's got a sweet left foot on him."I've not brought him to the club because he's my son, but because he's a good player. He doesn't get any special treatment, in fact I probably give him a harder time because of who he is. But he's slotted straight into the team, as has Stephen Darby, and they didn't look out of place."
