Hernia op for MacKenzie
12 Nov 2007 - 11:10:20
Notts County midfielder Neil MacKenzie has decided to have an operation on his long-standing hernia injury.
The 31-year-old has flown to Germany to have the surgery, but could return to action before the end of November.
Magpies boss Ian McParland told the club's official website: "Neil's gone for his operation and he'll be missing next week.
"It'll be good to get the injury cleared up and to have him back in time for the Lincoln game would be fantastic, but the main thing is getting the injury sorted."
MacKenzie added: "My groin has been stiff, but I've been getting through the games.
"I've been looking forward to the operation to be fair, because the injury has been limiting me more than anything and I'm keen to get back as soon as possible.
"It's incredible that I could miss only one game with a hernia operation."
