Hendon comments upset Bishop

Neal Bishop has hit back at Barnet manager Ian Hendon who was unhappy with the manner of the midfielder's move to Notts County.

The Bees boss had suggested he only found out that the 27-year-old had rejected a 12-month contract at Underhill and opted to move to Notts County in a text message.

However, Bishop said: "I was thinking of staying because Ian Hendon is a top bloke and a really good manager.

"But as soon as I met Ian McParland, I got a good feeling for Notts and I knew it was the right club for me.

"It's a load of nonsense I told Ian in a text. I spoke to him and told him I was coming to Notts. He said he understood and told me I'm joining a good club.

"I sent him a text asking him to ring me because I couldn't get hold of him on his holiday. It's been interpreted wrongly and it's disappointing."
