Gordon vows to kick-start career

Notts County's new striker Gavin Gordon is aiming to prove himself to the Magpies after three-and-a-half years of injury problems affected his career.

The 24-year-old managed only 13 goals in 55 appearances for Cardiff City before being released at the end of last season before Gary Mills handed him the chance to resurrect his career at Meadow Lane.

Gordon, who signed a two-year deal with the League Two outfit said: "I don't feel I proved myself because of injuries in general and hamstrings in particular.

"I just kept picking them up and then coming back too early because I wanted to be in the side again and then kept picking them up again.

"The fans kept seeing glimpses of the real me, such as the time I scored four against Rushden & Diamonds in the LDV Vans Trophy, but they never saw any consistency of performance."
