County priorities in place

Notts County captain John Thompson has insisted the priority for the club this term is to gain promotion from League Two despite their FA Cup exploits. County grabbed a 2-2 draw at home to Premier League outfit Wigan Athletic at the weekend to further consolidate their interest in the season's competition. However, Dave Kevan's men have a tough clash at Dagenham & Redbridge to deal with on Tuesday and Thompson insists the squad are concentrating on their league aspirations. He said: "The Dagenham game is huge and it's a great game for us on the back of an excellent performance and good result at the weekend. "Our performance on Saturday has boosted confidence - to play against a Premier League team and match them the way we did was a great effort. "But now we have to build on that - we have to start beating the teams around us in the League because that's what's going to decide whether or not we get promoted."
