County keeper keen for fitness

The 36-year-old has missed the last two pre-season campaigns through injury and wants to make up for lost time. He told the club's official website: "I missed the previous pre-season at Stoke because I cracked my ribs and last year I suffered a stress fracture in my ankle. "Even though I was working hard in the gym all the time and doing my rehabilitation work, I didn't feel match-fit because of the pre-season I missed. "I wasn't comfortable with myself if I'm being honest and I didn't keep as many clean sheets as I would have liked. "I am due a bit of luck and I am looking forward to getting back."
