Cotterill: County must finish the job

Published: 18 Mar 2010 - 13:45:00

The Magpies are third in the table with 13 matches remaining. They are three points behind second-placed Bournemouth with three games in hand and 11 points behind Rochdale with two games in hand, with the leaders still to visit Meadow Lane next month. "I am confident the players certainly want to finish what they have started this season, and they are more than capable of doing it," said Cotterill. "The step up into the top three could be a significant one. We've got to make sure we build on that now." However, Cotterill is predicting a lot of twists and turns as the race for promotion reaches an exciting climax. He added: "We are not going to win game after game. I haven't got my head in the clouds. I never got carried away when we won our first four games without conceding a goal because I know all too well what football does. "It throws up lots of obstacles in your way. It's what makes it so special when you succeed at the end of a season."
