Backe wants City after Cherries win

Backe was Sven Goran-Eriksson's assistant at Eastlands three seasons ago and would dearly love to pit his wits against the new-look City. "That would be the perfect draw," he smiled. At half-time, though, it looked as if County might be heading out of the cup. They were chasing the game due to a 38th-minute strike from Bournemouth's top scorer Brett Pitman and had not fashioned a single shot on target. But Backe's decision to move Craig Westcarr up alongside loan striker Lee Hughes and allow County the greater flexibility of a 4-4-2 formation paid dividends. "I thought we looked a lot more comfortable with two up front, and once we got our noses in front I thought we were always going to win," added the Magpies boss.
