Travel boost for County fans

Notts County fans who travelled to the postponed game at Hartlepool will have their coach fares paid for by the club when the Magpies visit Victoria Park for the rearranged fixture. The League One game on November 2 was abandoned after only three minutes due to a waterlogged pitch, leaving hundreds of Notts supporters disappointed. Ray Trew has sympathised with those who made the trip north and, to repay their loyal support, he has offered to pay for their coach fares when they return in January. "We know all too well how disappointing it can be when a game is called off, but it's all the worse when you have made a lengthy journey to get to the match," said Trew. "I was at the Hartlepool game and I shared the frustration of the Notts fans when the heavens opened and the match had to be abandoned after only three minutes. "I therefore felt that it was only right that the club do something to acknowledge the support of those fans that made the long trip up to Victoria Park. I hope that this gesture will go some way towards recompensing those fans that were at the game." Trew added: "Let's hope the rearranged game goes ahead without a hitch and the Notts fans turn out in force to get behind the lads and cheer them on to victory."
