Striker aiming high at Magpies

Hughes joined the club on a two-year deal on the same day Sven-Goran Eriksson was unveiled as the Magpies new director of football as new owners Munto finance put their stamp on the club. County have now been installed a the bookmakers favourites for promotion from League Two in the coming season and Hughes is confident they can prove the odds-makers right. He told the club's official website: "I've come here to get Notts County promoted and I hope my goals can play a big part in doing that. "The challenge is so exciting here. The manager has been brilliant and sold the club to me. I've been really impressed and I signed because of him. "The news that Sven-Goran Eriksson has joined a director of football is also really exciting and the future looks good for the club."
