Notts County continued their pre-season preparations with a 1-0 defeat to Polish side Arka Gdynia. Manager Craig Short was disappointed to lose the game in Austria but pleased with another good work-out. He said: "It was a good test. We didn't start very well. They are a Premier League team in Poland and were quite sharp and we took a while to get used to that. I think that was due to the heat as well. "It was when we were getting a hold of the game that they scored. The two best chances of the game came from long balls, the goal they got and the chance near the end for Luke (Rodgers). "Lee Hughes had a couple of opportunities too. (Neal) Bishop really impressed me and so did Graeme Lee, while John Spicer got stronger. "The fitness levels of them all get stronger and stronger every day. We have got to start at looking at getting most of the boys 90 minutes."
