Magpies to keep tabs on Kelly Notts County will assess Julian Kelly ahead of the visit of Stevenage. The full-back limped off after 62 minutes of the 1-1 draw with Sheffield United at Bramall Lane on Saturday. Midfielder Andre Boucaud will hope to be included in the squad on his return from a three-match suspension. Defenders Manny Smith (knee) and Tom Williams (calf) continue to make good progress in their recovery from injury but this game will come too soon. Meanwhile, Notts boss Keith Curle has revealed the club missed out on signing a striker on Monday, rumoured to be Rob Hulse, who agreed terms with Charlton on Monday. "He has had an offer from a Championship club and he has decided to go there, which is fully understandable," Curle, who worked with Hulse at QPR, told the media at his pre-match press conference. "It was somebody I know quite well and he would have fitted us superbly well, but what is not to be is not to be so we move on." Stevenage will be without Patrick Agyemang for the trip. The big striker has been ruled out for around six weeks after suffering a torn thigh muscle. Marcus Haber, who scored in Saturday's 2-2 draw with Bury, will start in attack again. Midfielder Anthony Grant came off with a slight knock at the weekend but he is expected to be fine. Oliver Risser will be pushing for a recall to the midfield after he was dropped to the bench against the Shakers. Defender Andy Iro could be added to the squad after completing his free transfer from MLS side Toronto last week, but winger Robbie Rogers (hamstring) and left-back Lee Hills (thigh) are not expected back just yet.
