Sheehan back to boost Magpies
Alan Sheehan's return from suspension gives Notts County manager Shaun Derry a full squad to choose from for the visit of fellow strugglers Sheffield United.
Sheehan served a one-match ban on New Year's Day as the Magpies recorded a comprehensive 3-0 home win over Bradford and Derry must decide whether the left-back returns straight into his starting line-up.
That is not the only decision Derry faces. Callum Ball has had his loan spell extended and the Derby striker will put pressure on Enoch Showumni for a place in the team.
Since Notts last played, midfielder Joss Labadie has left to join League Two side Torquay on loan and Callum McGregor, on loan from Celtic, has seen his deal expire.
Sheffield United manager Nigel Clough will pick from the same squad for the vital League One clash.
The Blades continued their good recent run of form last week when delivering an FA Cup upset by dumping out Aston Villa at Villa Park and Clough intends to keep faith with the same players.
Defender Matt Hill tweaked his back on Wednesday and did not train, but he is expected to recover and take his place at Meadow Lane.
Clough has no other injury or suspension concerns as United aim to make it just one defeat from 11 games.
