Ball blow for County

Notts County have been dealt an injury blow ahead of the visit of Coventry with the news that Callum Ball will be out for six weeks.

Ball, on loan from Derby, has damaged ankle ligaments and joins fellow striker Ronan Murray, who will complete a three-match suspension against the Sky Blues, on the sidelines. However, Magpies manager Shaun Derry this week completed the signing of James Spencer and he bolsters his options up front.

Left-back Gary Roberts and midfielder Hayden Mullins made their debuts during the 2-0 defeat to Preston last weekend. Mullins, on loan from Birmingham, came on as a substitute at Deepdale and will hope to be involved from the start on Saturday.

Bartosz Bialkowski missed out against North End through illness and will replace goalkeeping coach Kevin Pilkington between the posts now he has recovered.

Dylan McGeouch will hope to finally make his debut for Coventry.

The midfielder arrived on loan from Celtic ahead of the close of the January transfer window but saw last weekend's clash against Walsall fall victim to a waterlogged pitch before missing Tuesday's 2-1 victory at Bristol City due to illness.

Fellow new arrivals Nathan Delfouneso and Mark Marshall made their bows at Ashton Gate, although striker Rory Donnelly returned to parent club Swansea for personal reasons before ever pulling on a City shirt.

Long-term absentee Callum Wilson remains sidelined with his shoulder injury.
