Notts County cleared by customs

Notts County Chairman Ray Trew has revealed his delight after it was announced the club have paid all their outstanding debts and are no longer being watched by Her Majesty's Revenue and Customs. The club have been busy during the close season paying off their debts and received an email on Wednesday confirming that the case against the club has been closed. Trew told the Notts County official website: "The debt to HMRC has been a dark cloud hanging over Notts County since we arrived back in February and we are delighted to be able to close another sorry chapter in the clubs recent past. "Having paid the debt to HMRC, we were just awaiting official clearance from them that we were no longer under debt management. "Today's announcement marks another huge step in the right direction for Notts County Football Club. "With the new season fast approaching, this is exactly the kind of news that we want to hear and I hope that it serves as further reassurance for the fans of our commitment towards moving this club forwards."
