Campbell-Ryce leads Notts fightback

Jamal Campbell-Ryce and Jimmy Spencer each scored twice as Notts County climbed out of the relegation zone with a remarkable 4-2 comeback victory over Port Vale.

Vale had taken the lead after just 13 minutes when County defender Curtis Thompson headed beyond his own goalkeeper.

The visitors, who have not won away from home in the league since last November, then doubled their lead in the 24th minute when Gavin Tomlin converted from close range following Jennison Myrie-Williams' cross.

Notts gave themselves hope just three minutes later though when Spencer headed Campbell-Ryce's cross beyond Vale goalkeeper Sam Johnson.

Spencer grabbed the equaliser in the 34th minute after some more good work from Campbell-Ryce, who tip-toed his way past several challenges before teeing up the striker.

Three minutes after half-time the hosts were ahead. Jack Grealish engineered space for a cross, which was emphatically met by Campbell-Ryce on the volley.

The winger grabbed his second goal with four minutes left when he converted from another Grealish pass.
