Magpies hit back to hold Terriers

Notts County came from two goals down to share the spoils with Huddersfield in an entertaining 2-2 draw at Meadow Lane.

The scores had remained level until the 52nd minute when Huddersfield midfielder Gary Roberts headed in from close range after good work from in-demand striker Jordan Rhodes.

And six minutes later Roberts returned the favour to set up Rhodes for another close-range header - his 20th league goal of a remarkable season and his ninth in Town's last seven games.

That was harsh on County and they deservedly got themselves back in to the game after 72 minutes when Jeff Hughes dispatched confidently from the penalty spot after Alan Sheehan had been brought down by Tom Clarke.

And the home side levelled the game six minutes from time when veteran striker Lee Hughes was played in by Alan Judge and his deflected shot wrong-footed Ian Bennett to make it 2-2.

Substitute Scott Arfield had a chance to win it for Huddersfield in added time but his shot - after Stuart Nelson spilled - crawled agonisingly wide.
