Scott Loach denies Dagenham with late saves

Scott Loach came to the rescue with two superb saves as Notts County held on to secure a 0-0 draw with Sky Bet League Two's bottom club Dagenham & Redbridge.

Loach had little to do until the final five minutes at Meadow Lane, when he produced two wonderful stops to deny the Daggers what would have been a rare victory.

The keeper kept his concentration to first deny Christian Doidge's looping header and then, in the dying seconds, thwart a top corner-bound free-kick by Matt Richards.

County, on a losing sequence of three prior to this game, started in the ascendancy and veteran striker Jon Stead came close to opening the scoring after eight minutes.

A brilliant jinking run by winger Jason Banton led to Stead prodding the ball goalwards - only to be denied by a combination of Daggers goalkeeper Liam O'Brien and Joe Worrall.

Chances were few and far between for the rest of the game before Loach's late heroics denied the visitors all three points.
