McParland starts recruitment drive

With just eight players currently on the County books for next season, McParland is banking on making wholesale changes at Meadow Lane - and is wasting no time. He told the club's official website: "I've got a few meetings arranged already with players and I'll go and get a feel for them, which I believe is very important. "I want to try and suss the players out because what their personalities are like is also key to whether or not I'll try and sign them. "I prefer being out on the training field to this part of management, but it is part of the job and I'll be doing the very best I can to bring the right players to Notts County." On the timescale of luring new signings to the club, McParland added: "You don't get it done early nowadays. It usually goes to the last minute and it certainly isn't a case of getting your number one targets in the first two weeks and then putting your feet up until pre-season."
