McParland rues Johnson departure

The veteran defender, 35, is set to retire at the end of this campaign and McParland insists his leadership qualities will be sorely missed at Meadow Lane. "He is such an important player for us and he will be difficult to replace. Even when he has bad games, he is still a leader on the field and he has such a presence," said McParland. "He was a big miss for us when he was out injured. When he was out with his toe it coincided with a very bad run for us. "As I said, it will be difficult to replace him but we have to get out there and see what we can bring in."
