McParland: No guarantees for Sol

The 34-year-old former England star is reported to be thinking over a move to County but McParland refused to discuss any possible signing after seeing his side beat Dagenham 3-0. McParland said: "He would struggle to get in our defence on the evidence of this performance. My assistant Dave Kevan saw Dagenham play in midweek and rang me on the way home to say that we were in for a very difficult game. We set out to stop them putting balls into our box, and when we managed to do that everything fell into place from there. "It was really important for us to bounce straight back from the defeat at Chesterfield in midweek, and I was delighted with the response." Lee Hughes scored one goal and set up two others for Ben Davies and Johnnie Jackson as Dagenham struggled to contain the former West Brom forward. McParland added: "Dagenham couldn't handle Lee Hughes. He was getting hold of the ball and turning them, but it wasn't a one-man show. Everyone wanted to play their part."
