Magpies slayed again

Oldham made it two wins out of two courtesy of a hat-trick of well-taken goals in a 3-0 victory against Notts County. Strikes by Dean Furman, Ournare Tounkare and Kieran Lee boosted Paul Dickov's bright start to management and left last season's League Two champions still pointless. The Latics should have taken the lead within two minutes as Tounkare, on loan from Sunderland, headed wide from inside the six-yard box. County hit back well, with Ben Davies and Ben Burgess forcing saves from home goalkeeper Dean Brill. Midfielder Furman, who did not score for the whole of last season, made the breakthrough after 31 minutes, capping an impressive Oldham move by lashing into the top corner from 25 yards. Lewis Alessandra almost doubled the lead before half-time, and Oldham never lost their grip on the game. Tounkare pounced after 66 minutes when he chased a pass from Lee and crashed his shot into the far corner. And County were hit on the break three minutes from time as Lee marauded forward from right-back and converted Tounkare's centre via the underside of the crossbar.
