Magpies missing Hughes

Notts County will be without striker Lee Hughes for their trip to Peterborough. The 34-year-old is set to go for a scan on a groin and hip injury to assess the extent of the problem, but manager Craig Short hopes last season`s top scorer will be fit to face Sheffield Wednesday at Meadow Lane at the weekend. Hughes aggravated the injury in the warm-up before the game at Bristol Rovers on Saturday and was unable to play in the 2-1 defeat. Ben Burgess (calf) will also miss out at London Road, but fellow forward Luke Rodgers will be in the squad for the first time this season following ankle and thigh injuries.
