The 28-year-old is leaving the Quakers as a result of their financial problems and will sign a two-year deal at Meadow Lane once he has tied up some loose ends with at the Darlington Arena. Ravenhill, who has also played for Doncaster, Chester and Grimsby and made 99 appearances for Darlington during his two-and-a-half-year stay with the club, was an impressive performer in the recent season and Magpies manager Ian McParland is delighted to have arranged the deal. "To strike a deal with Ricky is a massive bonus for us," he told his club's official website. "I've been very determined to get him on board. "Ricky has been involved in a number of successful sides chasing promotion in recent years and I feel he will complement our style of play very well. He is a genuine midfielder and the type we were missing last season." Darlington handed all but one of their squad a free transfer last week in a bid to deal with their ongoing financial woes, with the club still subject to a takeover bid from local businessman Raj Singh.
