Magpies duo leave Meadow Lane

Both players have found first-team opportunities limited this season and were set to see their deals expire in the summer.[LNB]They follow Paul Mayo and Neil MacKenzie out of the exit door at Meadow Lane after their contracts were terminated last week.[LNB]"I want to freshen things up. I let a couple go last week and I just thought it was time to let a couple more go," said Magpies manager Ian McParland. "It's leaving me a bit thin but I want to bring some new blood into the squad. They (Smith and Weir-Daley) have been in and out of the team and it gives them a chance to go and get another club."[LNB]Smith joined County from Southend in November 2006. The 27-year-old made 67 appearances and scored five goals for the club.[LNB]Former Nottingham Forest trainee Weir-Daley, 23, swapped the City Ground for Meadow Lane in June 2007. During his time with the Magpies he made 48 appearances and scored three goals.[LNB][LNB]
