John Spicer`s patience this season has impressed Notts County manager Craig Short. The 27-year-old midfielder has been restricted to just five league starts since joining the club in the summer. Short said: "It has been difficult for John, as (Ricky) Ravenhill and (Neal) Bishop have been outstanding. They have carried on their form from last year and John has had to wait his turn. "But when he has come in he has never let me down. He came in at Wolves and did very well with no match fitness really. "His best performance was at Carlisle a couple of weeks ago and he got his goal this weekend."
