Roy MacGregor is returning to the post of chairman at Ross County.

MacGregor, the club's president, replaces Dave Siegel, who stepped down at the end of County's hugely successful 2009-10 season which saw them make history by reaching the Active Nation Scottish Cup final and finish fifth in the Irn-Bru First Division.

The Ross-shire businessman's appointment was confirmed at a meeting of the club's board last week.

At the same meeting, long-serving board member Gordon MacRae was appointed honorary vice-president after stepping down from the post of vice-chairman.

MacGregor, chairman of the Global Energy Group, has served several spells as chairman during his long association with the club.

He said: "I relish the challenges ahead as we look to build on the fantastic success of last season and work towards taking the club to the next level.

"I would like to once again thank Dave for all his hard work during his spell as chairman.

"I am also delighted to be able to confirm that his company, Highnet, is continuing as our shirt sponsors. We are very grateful for that on-going support.

"I would also like to pay the warmest tribute to Gordon for his fantastic service to the club as vice-chairman. We are delighted that he will continue his close association with Ross County as a director and in his new role as vice-president."
