Kevan hails Magpies' resolve

Notts County boss Dave Kevan was pleased with how his side defended their lead in the 1-0 win at Grimsby. Mariners centre-back Paul Linwood failed to cut out a long clearance from keeper Kasper Schmeichel and Lee Hughes raced through to bag his 22nd goal of the season. Kevan said: "Mike Edwards was in the wars all the way through and he never shirked a challenge. "He was fantastic along with the other boys beside him. It was a good team effort. "It was a very tough game. There were a lot of tackles, a lot of effort and a lot of aggression. Some of it may have been a little over the top at times. But you expect that because it was a big game for us and a massive game for Grimsby. "I was pleased the most with the result, that was the important thing."
