Jackson in contention for Magpies
Jackson was close to being considered for Monday night's postponed game at Bournemouth but the Boxing Day fixture was always a more realistic target.[LNB]John Thompson returned from suspension to take his place on the bench against Accrington last time out and he will be pushing for inclusion, while fellow defender Stephen Hunt is also upping his recovery as he approaches a comeback.[LNB]The game at Meadow Lane will be Dave Kevan's first since stepping in as caretaker manager following Hans Backe's resignation nine days ago.[LNB]Kevan, who has admitted he is not interested in the job on a full-time basis, must now decide whether to keep faith with the same starting XI - who were in good form prior to the surprise home defeat to Accrington - or make changes.[LNB][LNB]
